How score differences affect the result
In the example, Park’s supporters rate Cinema almost as highly. Cinema’s supporters give Park no points. Cinema therefore has the higher total even though more voters prefer Park. The size of the score differences affects the outcome.
A ranking would record who prefers which option, but could not express those differences in strength. Ratings can, although they are not a precise measurement of how people feel. Voters may use the scale differently, and may give more extreme scores to increase their influence on the result.
